Test your compliance levels

The HIPAA Cybersecurity assessment tool is a web based interactive media tool that allows Healthcare Information Technology Managers and business owners the ability to quickly assess their technology's compliance with HIPAA. The tool calculates a risk score based on rules provided within the IHS HIPAA Security Checklist

Taking the Assessment – 42 questions

Each rule is labeled as either required or addressable within the checklist and there are 42 rules the assessor should answer as yes/no.

Required rules that are answered as "Yes" receive 3pts and addressable rules answered as "Yes" receive 1pt. Both will be indicated with a green box. Answers left blank or answered "No" receive no points and an orange box.

Progress Indicator

The assessment is broken into 12 sets of questions. As you complete a set of questions, a visual indictor will display your current progress. Once an assessment is started it must be finished. While you can go back and change answers during your current session, progress will not saved to finish at a later time.

Score Updates

As you progress through the assessment, the tool will calculate the total number of points earned and display your current score and compliance level at the bottom of the screen. The total number of points possible to earn is 77.

Compliance Scores are ranked as follows:

• 77-49 - Near Compliance
• 48-20 Non-Compliant
• 19-0 Significantly Non-Compliant

Results

Email

Upon the assessment completion, you'll have the chance to send a results link to another recipient via email. They will recieve an assessment code via email to retrieve the results at a later time.

Download

When you click the "download results" button, the tool will provide you with a pdf download that lists out each of the rules and indicates which rule the assessor is compliant and non-compliant with.
